Building off the idea of a continuously intertwining string of connection throughout a series of curated speaking/networking events and its attendees, Thread was a concept imagined by Uncorked Studios that intended to bring in people from disparate disciplines and backgrounds to inspire the design community in unconventional ways. In order to promote the overarching vision of Thread, it needed a visual identity that could easily be applied to promotional material distributed each time an event drew near.
I established a system that used a custom mono-weight wordmark and a collection of supporting graphics that further illustrated the message of the brand. Along with mark making, a color palette was derived from provided imagery of the concrete flooring and vibrant chairs within the event space itself. The color system further influenced a photographic treatment for promotional imagery that could be used in a modular grid system for online use across any number of social media applications.
